What We Teach and How

Three focused workshops, each one building on the last. The full series takes a participant from confusion to clarity about her household finances.

Workshop 01

Understanding Income and Obligations

The first session addresses the most fundamental question: what is actually happening with your money right now? This is not about judgment. It is about visibility.

Many participants arrive having never read a bank statement from start to finish. The session walks through what each line means, what the different account types are, and how to identify every source of income and every regular obligation.

  • Reading and interpreting a bank statement
  • Identifying all income sources including irregular ones
  • Mapping all monthly and annual obligations
  • Understanding net vs. gross income in Croatian context
  • Completing a personal income and obligations worksheet

Workshop 02

Establishing a Payment System

Knowing what you owe is one thing. Having a reliable system for making sure it all gets paid on time is another. The second session is entirely practical.

Participants build a personal payment calendar during the session itself. We work through the most common Croatian utility and service bill formats, explain how to set up standing orders at Croatian banks, and create a simple checklist system that removes the mental load of remembering everything.

  • Creating a monthly payment calendar
  • Understanding Croatian utility bill formats
  • Setting up and managing standing orders
  • Building a personal bill-tracking checklist

Setting Priorities and Making Decisions

The final session shifts from systems to judgment. Once you can see your finances clearly and your payment system is running, the remaining challenge is making good decisions when something unexpected happens or when you have to choose between competing needs.

This session introduces a simple framework for thinking through financial decisions. Not a formula. A way of thinking that participants can apply to any situation they encounter after the workshops end.

  • Distinguishing urgent, important, and deferrable expenses
  • Building a basic monthly financial plan
  • Thinking through unexpected expense scenarios
  • Maintaining the payment system independently over time
  • Knowing when and where to seek further professional help

What These Workshops Do Not Include

Clarity about scope helps participants arrive with the right expectations.

Not Therapy

The emotional dimensions of divorce or widowhood are real and significant. These workshops do not address them. Participants who need emotional support are encouraged to seek it from qualified mental health professionals.

Not Legal Advice

Questions about inheritance, property division, alimony, or other legal matters fall outside the scope of these workshops. Participants with legal questions should consult a licensed attorney.

Not Investment Guidance

These workshops do not cover savings products, investment accounts, pension planning, or any form of wealth management. That is a separate area requiring different expertise and licensing.

Not Tax Advice

Tax obligations, tax returns, and tax planning are not covered. Participants with questions about Croatian tax obligations should contact the Croatian Tax Administration or a qualified tax advisor.
